I don't see myself as a bleeding heart liberal but I am honestly concerned and confused with the absense of wildlife in our parks today. I see a new toll road, new houses, new construction, new traffic lights. But very little wildlife.
Tejas Park is along the San Gabriel River just as it feeds into Lake Georgetown. It is a reasonable ways out into the "country". Yet, while I'm there, I saw exactly one squirrle, a kingfisher, and small flock of killdears. My app heard a Carolina Wren and a Chickadee off in the distance which is kind of remarkable given how much contruction noise was present. And that's it.
Oh... well... I did see close to a half dozen small plastic bags that have dog poop in them. That also confuses me. Do the people that do that really think they are helping?
